Strategy Japan Appoints Takeshi Koga as New Country Manager

— Strengthening Leadership in Data Utilization for the AI Era;

New Office in Akasaka Green Cross to Open on July 1 to Accelerate Business Expansion —

Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) today announced that, effective June 15, 2026, Takeshi Koga has been appointed as the new Country Manager for its Japan operations, as part of the company’s efforts to further expand its business and strengthen its organization in the Japanese market. In addition, as a demonstration of its continued commitment to Japan, the company will relocate its headquarters office to “Akasaka Green Cross” and commence operations there on July 1, 2026.

Strategy has a reliable history of more than 30 years, and its Japan office was established in 2003. The company rebranded to “Strategy” in 2025, marking a new stage as the world’s first AI-powered independent universal semantic layer. In today’s market, where AI is having an increasing impact on data, analytics and daily operations, the semantic layer—one of Strategy’s core strengths since its founding—is once again drawing significant attention.

In recent years, many organizations have been struggling with issues such as data silos, inconsistent metrics and AI hallucinations. To help address these challenges, Strategy announced its “Universal Semantic Layer,” which can operate across any environment. This technology enhances data reliability as a company’s “single source of truth” and offers the following key advantages:

- Open trusted definitions, everywhere

- Open by design, no lock-in

- AI-ready data, minimizing hallucinations

- Governance built for the AI era

- Fixed cost, minimizing risk of cost overruns

The new leadership structure and office relocation represent a strategic investment designed to reinforce Strategy’s commitment to customers in the rapidly evolving Japanese market, and to transform the company’s business from that of a traditional BI vendor into a comprehensive provider of data utilization solutions.

Comment from Michael Trinder, Vice President, Asia Pacific, Strategy

“Takeshi’s longstanding leadership track record will be a tremendous asset in strengthening Strategy Japan as it enters a new stage. As AI adoption continues to expand in all aspects of corporate planning and operations, I am confident that under his leadership we will help our customers drive greater business value.”

Comment from Takeshi Koga

“As AI redefines the way businesses operate, I see limitless potential in Strategy’s platform, which combines a 30-year heritage with the Universal Semantic Layer that ensures data reliability. Drawing on my experience to date, I will work to further deepen our relationships with our valued customers and partners in Japan.

Our new office, opening on July 1, will be a venue to take on new challenges, where innovation can emerge across organizational and departmental boundaries. From this new environment, our entire team will work as one to support data-driven management and sustainable growth for Japanese enterprises.”

Vision for the New Office

To support future performance and business growth, Strategy will relocate its office in Japan as part of broader efforts to strengthen its local organization. This move embodies the new “Strategy” brand and symbolizes the company’s strategic shift from being a BI-focused vendor to becoming a comprehensive provider of data utilization support, including the construction of robust data foundations.

The new office is designed to foster a work environment in which employees can perform at their best. It will encourage communication and innovation across departments and job functions.
