Bring Unity Catalog Metadata into Mosaic

Mosaic Studio now supports importing column comments from Databricks Unity Catalog as extended metadata, enabling a more seamless and governed modeling experience. These descriptions can be leveraged directly within Mosaic Studio to improve AI modeling such as object creation and auto renaming. In addition, the imported column comments is persisted as object description and made accessible for downstream AI agent use cases, including integration with Mosaic MCP Server, helping power more context-aware automation and intelligent workflows. By allowing metadata to be centrally defined and maintained in the data source, this feature reduces duplication, improves consistency, and strengthens alignment between data governance and semantic modeling.
