My Order or Placing an Order

Is there a difference in the Evaluation Edition (DVD-ROM Format Package) and the Evaluation Edition (Download Format)?

The Evaluation Edition (DVD-ROM Format Package) and the Evaluation Edition (Download Format) are functionally identical. You can experience the power of MicroStrategy's Industrial-Strength Business Intelligence Platform using either format.

I ordered the Evaluation Edition (DVD-ROM Format Package), but I still haven't received it. What can I do?

Delivery of the MicroStrategy Evaluation Edition (DVD-ROM Format Package) takes seven to nine business days for orders inside the United States, and a little longer for overseas orders.

If your Evaluation Edition (DVD-ROM Format Package) is not delivered within 10 working days, please send an email to info@microstrategy.com quoting your order number, details (such as your name, name of the company and the address) and the date on which you placed the order.

I already ordered the MicroStrategy Evaluation Edition (DVD-ROM Format Package), but now, I would like to download it. Can I still do it?

Yes. If you chose the option to have the DVD-ROM delivered, you can still go back and choose to download it. Please bear in mind the limitations of your Internet connection prior to selecting this option. Due to the size of the software, the time required for downloading it can vary based on your Internet connection.

If you would like to change the method, please go to www.microstrategy.com/FreeEvalCD.asp and fill out the order form. If you enter the email address that you used to order the Evaluation Edition, and submit the information, you will be able to select the delivery method. Select the Download option to proceed with the rest of the process.

I do not have a corporate email address. Can I use my personal email address?

A valid corporate email address is required to order the MicroStrategy Evaluation Edition (DVD-ROM Format Package or Download Format). Promotion Code and License Key

What is the promotion code and where can I find it?

The promotion code is required for obtaining the license key that lets you install the MicroStrategy Evaluation Edition. This promotion code can be found on the inside of the Evaluation Edition DVD-ROM Format Package. If you downloaded the Evaluation Edition, you should have received the promotion code in the email communication from MicroStrategy. If you did not receive any email confirmation from MicroStrategy, check your email filtering software and add microstrategy.com as a safe sender. If you cannot locate the email, please check your Bulk or Spam folders and add the microstrategy.com domain to the Safe Senders List of your email account or email filtering software. If the email is lost, please send an email to info@microstrategy.com with your name, email address, company, address, and the date on which you placed the order.

How do I obtain the license key for the Evaluation Edition from the promotion code?

You can obtain the license key for installing the MicroStrategy products by registering your copy of the MicroStrategy Evaluation Edition at www.microstrategy.com/LicenseKey. At the online registration site, you are asked to enter the email address you used to request this evaluation software along with the promotion code. If your email address cannot be found in the records, you may be asked to fill out a short form.

After successful registration, you will receive an email that contains the license key. Please make sure you add microstrategy.com as a safe sender in your email filtering software. If you do not receive the email within 24 hours of registration, please send an email to info@microstrategy.com quoting your order number, details (such as your name, name of the company and the address) and the date on which you placed the order.

When does the license key for the Evaluation Edition expire?

The license key for the Evaluation Edition expires 30 days from the time you install MicroStrategy software. If this time period does not satisfy your evaluation requirements, please send an email to info@microstrategy.com before the expiration of the license key along with your contact information.

Username and Password

I have lost my password for accessing MicroStrategy Knowledge Base. Can you reset it?

If you misplaced the email that contains the password for accessing the Microstrategy Knowledge Base, please send an email to info@microstrategy.com requesting your password to be reset. Include your User ID (which should be the same as the email address you used for registration), along with details such as your name, name of the company and the address.

Software Issues

I inserted the disk, but the disk doesn't play or shows up as blank. What can I do?

The Evaluation Edition DVD-ROM Format Package includes a DVD-ROM. Make sure that the disk is correctly inserted into a disk drive that supports a DVD-ROM format. If you do not have a DVD-ROM drive, you can still evaluate MicroStrategy software by downloading it instead. Please see the FAQ entry on downloading the Evaluation Edition after you've ordered the DVD-ROM Format Package.
