MicroStrategy Seminar Series

MicroStrategy University is pleased to announce a new form of training that will be available in the coming months. Our Seminar Series consist of several groupings of courses that go beyond the traditional MicroStrategy product-focused courses by addressing best practices for MicroStrategy implementations and providing recommendations on how to build industry-specific applications using MicroStrategy. MicroStrategy University instructional designers have collaborated with technical advisors, consultants, technical support engineers, product managers, and industry specialists in authoring content and relevant business scenarios and exercises. MicroStrategy currently offers two series: Best Practices and Industry Solutions.

MicroStrategy Best Practices Series:

Best Practices for Administering and Tuning the MicroStrategy Platform
Course Duration: 1 day

  • MicroStrategy Intelligence Server Administration

This course provides best practices guidelines for administering and tuning the MicroStrategy platform. Participants will learn the recommended methodology for migrating objects across different environments and migrating metadata and data warehouses to different database platforms. In addition, participants will learn best practices related to security, cache management, schedule management, clustering, system monitoring, and governing. This course is designed to provide practical applications of MicroStrategy in addressing common category management requirements encountered in the retail industry. The course begins with an overview of core concepts in retail category management. You will also learn how to develop static MicroStrategy Desktop reports that satisfy common category management questions. You will then learn how to combine related reports in MicroStrategy Report Services documents and finally, how to enrich the user experience by incorporating Flash-based interactivity in the form of a dynamic dashboard. The course begins with an introduction to the business drivers, opportunities, and issues that are developing in the healthcare industry. Through a combination of lecture and exercises, you will then learn how to develop healthcare quality metrics, reports, documents, and dynamic dashboards in MicroStrategy Desktop.
