Certification Programs

MicroStrategy offers three types of certification programs:

Comprehensive Certifications	Focus Area Certifications	Renewal Certifications

A combination of Focus Area certifications coupled with a hands-on project to validate mastery in development, implementation or customization. Individuals eligible to attend the Comprehensive Certification Programs are those who have passed the pre-requisite Focus Area Certifications.	A combination of standard courses reinforced by hands-on activity, culminating with a written exam. These certifications focus on a functional area and are designed to validate proficiency in a certain aspect of full life-cycle development and deployment using the MicroStrategy platform.	Enable those who have previously passed a Comprehensive Certification Program to renew their certification status for the next 12 months by passing a written exam.

** The Certified Systems Manager certification will be retired in Q4 2007. The CSM certification will continue to be recognized for customers who hold valid CSM status until such status expires.

The new modular structure of the MicroStrategy Certification Programs provides maximum flexibility for individuals to attain certification. An individual can choose to attend:

• Focus Area Certifications, Comprehensive Certifications and all supporting courses continuously and sequentially.
  • All supporting courses and prerequisite certifications are conveniently offered sequentially on the public course schedule.
• Focus Area Certifications, Comprehensive Certifications and all supporting courses in any order, at anytime, anywhere.
• Focus Area Certifications without attending supporting courses.
  • An individual is not required to attend a supporting course to attempt certification in a given Focus Area Certification.

MicroStrategy's Comprehensive Certifications are valid for 12 months from date of attainment. Once certification is achieved, the Renewal Certifications allow an individual to keep current on the MicroStrategy platform and maintain their certification status over time. An individual must renew their certification through the respective Renewal Certification in order to maintain their certified status with MicroStrategy. The modular structure of all MicroStrategy Certifications help individuals achieve certification and keep their certified status with minimal disruption in their busy schedules.
