Renewal Certifications
All MicroStrategy Certifications are valid for 12 months from date of attainment. Focus Area Certifications are renewed by taking the relevant exam every twelve months. The MCE and MCD programs offer a renewal exam in order to retain the relevant certification, which does not require the candidate retake the MCE or MCD Project class once successfully certified. The modular structure of all MicroStrategy Certifications help individuals achieve certification and keep their certified status with minimal disruption in their busy schedules. » Download all Certification

required to pass the following exam to renew their MCE status:
MCE Renewal Exam Policy
MCE Renewal Exam is a comprehensive exam testing an individual's knowledge on the latest version of the MicroStrategy platform. Candidates are required to score a 75% or better to renew their MCE status for the next 12 months. Upon failing the exam, one retake of the exam requiring a passing score of 85% is allowed. The following table provides guidance to MCE renewal candidates on the
recommended training path to follow to adequately prepare to pass the
MCE Renewal Exam.
How Do I Renew My MCEP Status?
You may renew your MicroStrategy Certified Engineer Professional (MCEP) status on a yearly basis by passing the following 3 exams:
The MCE Renewal Exam, the Certified Engine Specialist exam and then one more advanced exam of your choice from our Focus Area Certifications. It does not have to be the same advanced Focus Area exam you took previously.
What is the Most Cost Effective Way of Maintaining my Certified Status?
To attain the prerequisite knowledge needed to pass any renewal exam, MicroStrategy recommends individuals who have expired certifications join the Perennial Education Pass (PEP) Program. This program provides individuals with a low-cost solution to renewing their certification status year over year. For one annual fee, PEP members can take as many instructor-led courses and online courses available to acquire the prerequisite knowledge needed to maintain their certification status.
