1) Software Engineer
Locations: MicroStrategy HQ (McLean, VA); Hangzhou, China
The Software Engineer designs and tests software that will maintain MicroStrategy's industry leadership in the business intelligence industry.
Job Duties (include but not limited to):
- Design, code, debug, and test software components and product features on Microsoft® Windows® and various Unix/Linux platforms independently in a high-availability, high-performance environment.
- Implementation of MicroStrategy product features through entire lifecycle of feature development. This includes contribution on feature design specs, development time estimation, code implementation of functionality, testing, analyzing, and optimizing the implementation.
- Work closely with other team members, including engineers, managers and architects from MicroStrategy headquarters.
- Individual must have ability and desire to assimilate and apply knowledge as well as to spread acquired knowledge and experience to other team members.
Job Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's (Hangzhou, China location only), Master's, or PhD degree in Computer Science. GPA 3.5+
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating system and other Computer Science fundamentals
- Fluent in object oriented programming languages, such as C++, Java; strong object-oriented design and development skills
- Strong analytical skills and problem solving skills
- Familiarity with RDBMS is highly desirable
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English
- Positive attitude to work as part of a team

2) Software Engineer in Test
Location: Hangzhou, China
The Software Engineer in Test is responsible for testing software that will maintain MicroStrategy's industry leadership in the business intelligence industry.
Job Duties (include but not limited to):
- Work together with other team members (including engineers at MicroStrategy headquarters) to contribute to product feature design, responsible for testing plans and strategy.
- Apply software design and programming skills to create automated test tools, implement API-level automated tests.
- Creatively use programming approaches to develop random, combinational, feature, and stress test suites to deliver robust, scalable, and high-performance products.
- Execute and analyze automated test results to improve test code coverage. Ability to debug at source code level.
- Reproduce, debug, and isolate issues found at customer sites as well as internally, and verify fixes.
- Individual must have ability and desire to assimilate and apply knowledge as well as to spread acquired knowledge and experience to other team members.
Job Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science. GPA 3.5+
- Solid knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals
- Good programming skills in C/C++, Java
- Strong analytical, design, debugging, testing and problem solving skills
- Familiarity with RDBMS is a plus
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English
- Positive attitude to work as part of a team
- Process oriented with the ability to pay close attention to details
